I would have never imagined that by the age of three my child would become a backseat driver. Well, she has. Good grief!
It started a few weeks ago when we upgraded Chicken's car seat and switched the positioning of both his and Edee's seat. The kids were both excited about the change, until one day Edee noticed that she couldn't "see the road!" We assured the frustrated little girl that she didn't need to see the road until she was big and driving herself.
But that wasn't the end. Now when I'm stopped at a light, especially waiting to make a left-hand turn and the neighboring lanes get a green light, I hear the annoyed voice of Edee call out "GO, Mommy!", or "Come on, Mommy, YET'S GO!"; or when we're crawling along in Boston traffic and she yells, "Argh! Yet's go whaster!!!! GO Mommy!"
You can imagine the exasperation both of us feel.
